The flight home was uneventful, Jen took a sleeping pill just before we boarded and once in her seat went to sleep, and wasn’t even awake to see the safety video. Rob had to wake her up for the first meal, and even then, she was only 50% awake. Ordering special meals does have its advantage as you always get you meal first. Jen’s fruit platter was delicious and no sooner had she eaten the last grape than she was fast asleep again.
Rob wriggled and squirmed to get comfortable and after watch one of the movies fell asleep, waking only occasionally to wipe the drool. The joys of sleeping sitting up!
The lights were turned on at about 6:00am just as Rob’s watch alarm went off. This was good timing, otherwise he would not have been a popular person!. Breakfast was an omelet or sandwich (Israeli style); Jen had her fruit platter again. Dozing on and off we finally landed at 9:39am. Taxiing in, unloading from the plane, and passport control was effortless. After a walk (we’re getting used to this!) to the domestic terminal and we caught our connecting flight home to Durban.
The welcome home from our dogs was the best part about being back in SA and helps relieve the heartache for Jerusalem…
The year after next? In Jerusalem ….We hope… Israel 2008 the result
